Franklin HIGH SCHOOL ᐧ 900 N Resler, El Paso
Gage Schroeder was just 14 years old when he passed away in a tragic accident. Although his time here was short, he touched many people with his kindness and compassion. He was a charmingly sensitive boy with an electric personality. He had a deep connection to God, his family, and his many friends.
Gage wrestled for Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas and was in the Medical Magnet program with aspirations to become a doctor. His death was devastating for all who were lucky enough to know him. He was a once-in-a-lifetime kid who made a profound impact and will never be forgotten.
The Schroeder family started a scholarship fund in his name for those who wanted to offer support. Thus began the Gage Schroeder Compassion Foundation and The Gage Memorial Wrestling Tournament.
Gage Schroeder excelled in school and was a wrestler, but what left the biggest impression on others was the kindness and compassion he displayed to all. Gage was a new wrestler but loved the sport and being a part of a team. He showed great compassion by making others feel special and by helping many feel loved and wanted with smiles, hugs and kind words.
Each year the Gage Schroeder Courage Award is awarded to two wrestlers, one boy and one girl. The recipients are those who display courage, integrity and kindness. These wrestlers have experienced personal hardships, but have learned to overcome adversity.
Since 2017, we have given over 40K in scholarships and grants. We could not provide these scholarships if it wasn’t for the continued support of our sponsors.
